To elaborate, build and concretize the restoration project of the Bobigny train station, the municipality mobilizes a substantial group of political, institutional, and associative partners, some of which are already financially engaged, notably the SNCF.

To ensure complementarity between this project and the Drancy memorial, the city also associates the Shoah Memorial and the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah with the Bobigny train station project.

In the interest of consultation and participatory democracy, associations, residents of Bobigny and other individual who so desire are regularly invited to express themselves on the progress of the reflection, notably during public consultations and events where their viewpoints can be taken into account.

This determination is carried through in the establishment of a planning committee that brings together the major institutional and associative partners. The creation of a scientific advisory committee that will elaborate the scientific, educational, and cultural project and oversee the historical accuracy of the project, is underway.

Restoration of the façades and roof of the “passenger building” was financed by the Conseil régional (€144,000 HT), the Fondation du Patrimoine [heritage foundation] (€80,000 HT), The Conseil Général (€48,000 HT). The total cost is estimated at €480,000 HT; the City of Bobigny, with the contribution of a public subscription that raised close to €15,000, financed the difference, of €208,000. The landscaping study was also financed by the City (€20,000), the Conseil Général (€10,000) and the fondation du patrimoine (€5,000).

The AFMA also participated in financing the project, contributing a public subscription launched by the fondation du patrimoine and the City of Bobigny.

The SNCF and RFF have graciously ceded the entire field to the City of Bobigny.
 

The planning committee was organized by Catherine Peyge, Mayor of Bobigny, in 2007.

  • The Conseil Général
  • The SNCF
  • Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) [French railroad]
  • The Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah [Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah]
  • The Mémorial de la Shoah [Shoah Memorial]
  • The Fondation du Patrimoine [Heritage Foundation]
  • Associations working for recognition of the history of Drancy and Bobigny
 

The scientific advisory committee will be composed by mutual agreement with the future partners of the City of Bobigny. A consultation is currently underway.
 

The City of Bobigny also wishes to appeal to private sponsors.
